“There are Brazilian companies that are already setting up in the DR and will begin exporting ethanol and later, in the second phase, will produce ethanol in the Dominican Republic. The technology and capital are Brazilian and there is one in its final phase,” noted Mejía.

In this order, he explained that within one or two months this company will begin to mix ethanol with gasoline and he explained that this is part of the exchange between Brazil and the DR, according to the Presidential Office of Information, Press and Publicity.

Mejía said that the production of ethanol will be carried out with Dominican and Brazilian capital. “This has nothing to do with the government.”  He added that the meeting with the Brazilian ambassador served to review the existing relations between this country and the Dominican Republic.
