Both “Mansión Herminia,” as well as “Cuatro Disparos en la Noche,” (unofficial translation: Four Shots in the Night) are the two tragic plays written by Sánchez Beras and which were awarded the Annual Literature Award “Cristóbal de Llerena” (2017), issued in the Dominican Republic.

The two plays attempt to reproduce some of the situations and events that took place during the 12-year regime of former President Joaquín Balaguer.

The Commission’s Theater Group is the official theater company of the Dominican Cultural Commission in the United States, established to produce plays written by Dominican and international writers. Also, to provide interested audiences with theater workshops and to participate in the events carried out by the Commission’s Hispanic Theater Work Team. Professor Luis Felipe Rodríguez heads the Group.
