The Koribe Choir On “Recital Route 2019” in Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone

Santo Domingo, June 5, 2019 – The Koribe Choir of the country’s Ministry of Culture, known for a repertoire based on traditional and folklore songs from the Dominican Republic, will present its second “Recital Route 2019” in Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone.

The presentations will take place on Thursday 6, 13 and 27th of June, and will conclude on July 4th. The Choir will present their program in specific colonial plazas and museums.

Choir director Nadia Nicola explained that the “Recital Route” will take place in the mornings, when the Choir will perform in some of the Zone’s most iconic and traditional museums to delight the public with their program.

She also explained that during this “Recital Route” the choir will present a special program titled “Latino,” consisting of choral pieces that highlight Latin American culture.

Dominicans, tourists and international travelers will be able to enjoy, completely free of charge, some of the most traditional and beautiful songs of Latin America.

The Koribe Choir was founded in December 2013. Choir members are graduates of the National Conservatory of Music and since the beginning of this year it has been performing all over the country.

Ms. Nicola also highlighted that during the last trimester of this year the Koribe Choir will close the year by launching its third CD, titled “Roots” (non-official translation), dedicated to the traditional songs of the Dominican countryside.
