Announcement on Third Annual Journalism Environmental Award

Santo Domingo, August 10, 2018 – The Consorcio Energético Punta Cana – Macao (CEPM), the electricity company from the town of San Pedro de Macoris (CESPM), and companies belonging to the InterEnergy Holdings group, along with the National Network of Entrepreneurial Support for Environmental Protection (ECORED), recently announced the opening of the third annual “Journalism Environmental Award 2017-2018.”

The goal of the award is to encourage journalists to investigate and help raise awareness in society regarding the importance of taking care of the environment, as well as promote actions that will favor the planet’s protection and sustainability.

The deadline for entries is August 31, 2018.   Participants can deposit stories they have written and published in local media outlets – print or online outlets – on these subject areas between September 1, 2017 and August 31, 2018.

The first place winner will receive RD$200,000 (approximately US$4,500), plus a certificate of recognition.  Second and third place winners will receive cash awards of RD$100,000 and RD$50,000, respectively (US$2,000 and US$1,000).
