Third Annual Jazz Nights at Acrópolis Center Now in March

Santo Domingo, February 26, 2019 – For a third consecutive year one of Santo Domingo’s most important shopping centers, Acrópolis Center, and the organization Jazz en Dominicana will open, on Wednesday, March 6, its much awaited weekly live jazz festival known as ¨Jazz Nights at Acrópolis.¨

The festival is the only one of its kind in the country. Each concert, held every Wednesday during the month of March, features a special brand of this international and extremely popular musical genre. National and international musicians will bring in and delight music lovers from all over.

The organizers have managed to recreate, in the mall’s Central Atrium, an authentic Jazz Club. Jazz lovers will gather every Wednesday, at 6:00 p.m. to enjoy the evening’s special event. Each concert will feature Classic and Latin jazz, Blues, Swing, Funk, Bossa Nova…and much more!!!

During the last two seasons Acrópolis’ Central Atrium begins to receive true jazz lovers and to enjoy the music they will feature that evening. On March 6, and for the following three months, the audience will do exactly the same!

Wednesday, March 6: Ernesto Núñez Quartet

This year, Jazz Nights will open its three-month season with the Ernesto Núñez Quartet, a Costa Rican trumpet player who, through his performances in the Dominican Republic, has won the respect and admiration of his peers and music lovers. Today, Ernesto is without a doubt one of the top jazz trumpet players currently living in the country. His quartet is known for its quality and ample repertoire of classic jazz greats and his own compositions.
Nuñez will be accompanied on stage by renowned musicians and friends, such as American Corey Allen on the piano, Pengbian Sang (bass) and Guy Frómeta (percussion). It will definitely be an unforgettable night that every jazz club will envy. And, of course, there will always be a surprise performance to open the 2019 season.
