Singer-songwriter José Antonio Rodríguez will be the main star of “Bohemian Night”on October 7 on the Esplanade at the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo where he is part of the artistic program being put on for the 26 National Biennial of Visual Arts – Santo Domingo 2011.


Cara o cruz, Amor para voz y piano, Confesiones, Se vende, Recuento, Huellas and other songs by José Antonio Rodríguez will be part of his repertory that will make this an unforgettable night.

The Ministry of Culture, the Museum of Modern Art and the Organizing Committee have also scheduled other amazing events for this same night. For example, a “Roundtable of Selected Artists” in which Gamal Michelén will be moderator. This will begin at 7:00 pm, in the Museum Auditorium.


This year’s biennial also has a Special Guests Hall where such artists as Elsa Núñez and Rosa Tavares, Domingo Batista, Fernando Peña Defilló will be featured. There will be a posthumous memorial for Cándido Bidó.


The Museum of Modern Art of the Dominican Republic is located on Pedro Henríquez Ureña Avenue, Culture Plaza of Juan Pablo Duarte. Normal Museum hours are being extended due to the 26 Biennial. For the duration of the Biennial, the Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. except for Fridays when the Museum will remain open until 10:00 p.m..
