“In the Antilles there are multiple forms and the winds from Quisqueya blow our way. A micro-world of islands mischievously pop in and out to discover the most cheerful people in the world. I do not exaggerate when I say that the smile on their faces is an attribute to tell to travelers from afar who are surprised at the abundance of kindness from those who have learned how to live with pain and at times with poverty. Where is the gift or the angel who bestowed such beauty? To look at this place in an invitation to live, no matter what, an invitation to anyone who comes into contact with it. It has known for centuries how to live, leaving behind on this land the most conservative defenders of its ancestral treasures.”

“The Dominican Republic is a place of homage to its people, its traditions and identity. I would like to see the same thing with my own country and I dare say no matter where one goes, to seek knowledge or discover something new, in every small town, all people of the world can be found.”

The exhibition is open to the public until June 15, 2011 in La Marquetería..
