It was divided into three panels that addressed the following topics: &#8220;The Role of Volunteers in the Sustainable Development Goals&#8221;; &#8220;Volunteering and the Sustainable Development Goals: Report on the State of Volunteerism Worldwide in 2015&#8221; and &#8220;How to Strengthen the Contributions of Volunteers in the 2030 Agenda&#8221;.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Among the panelists were: Addys Then Marte, Executive Director of the Alianza NGO; Ruth Fern\u00e1ndez, Unit for Sustainable Human Development at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP); Luis Abreu, Coordinator of Social Responsibility at the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC); and Hern\u00e1n Paredes, Executive Director at the MEPyD\u2019s National Center for the Development and Promotion of Non-Profit Associations.<br \/>\n<P>In addition, V\u00edctor Velasco, Volunteers Program officer at the United Nations; Indhira Gil, a volunteer with the Action 2015 campaign; Joan Mateo, Executive Director of Service for Peace; and, Ezequiel Volquez, Director of Planning and Monitoring of the Progressing with Solidarity Program, among others.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The event was held in the framework of the National Day of Volunteering, in accordance with Law 61-13, which regulates voluntary service in the Dominican Republic.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>About Silve Quisqueya<\/STRONG><BR>It is a network of organizations working for the promotion and recognition of the voluntary work performed by youth in the Dominican Republic since 2001.
