The center will be operational in 2016 and it has the support of the President of the Dominican Republic, Danilo Medina.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>According to the Commissioner of Culture, Mr. Carlos S\u00e1nchez, the Center will be created with the objective of providing young people with literary talent with theoretical and technical knowledge. The Center will also provide them with hands-on experience to deal with the craft of literature with the necessary rigor, and to stimulate the literary creativity of young Dominican (or of Dominican descent) narrators who live abroad.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>S\u00e1nchez said that the Professor Juan Bosch Literary Training Center will be modeled after other similar centers in Latin America, such as the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Literary Training Center of Cuba, \u201cbecause of the positive results it has produced in that nation, and it will have a top quality teaching staff, especially successful writers who can share their experiences and knowledge with the students.\u201d<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The selection of students, not older than 35 years old, will be made via a call to be issued in the United States and Puerto Rico. The workshops will be free of charge and the Center will cover the air ticket, hotel, and transportation for those who reside outside New York.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cWe know that there are many young Dominicans with a talent for narrative that only need training for their writing career to take off.
