{"id":7395,"date":"2015-11-03T22:34:38","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T18:34:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dominicana-online.org\/?p=7395"},"modified":"2015-11-03T22:34:38","modified_gmt":"2015-11-03T18:34:38","slug":"noti5896","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dominicanaonline.org\/en\/noti5896\/","title":{"rendered":"Tribute to Ram\u00f3n Oviedo at the 28th National Biennial of Visual Arts 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><BR><br \/>\n<TABLE class=texto width=\"90%\" border=0><br \/>\n<TBODY><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top width=70><IMG class=thinborderfloat1 border=0 alt=\"Fernando Villalona to Reflect on His Life, Music at New York Dominican Get Together\" src=\"\/portal\/noticias\/5896_66.jpg\" width=65><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top width=7><BR><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD class=texto style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top align=left><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Tribute to Ram\u00f3n Oviedo at the 28th National Biennial of Visual Arts 2015 <\/STRONG><BR>Santo Domingo, November 3 2015<\/P><br \/>\n<P><SPAN style=\"FONT-SIZE: 35px; FONT-FAMILY: Georgia,; FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: chocolate; LETTER-SPACING: -6px; LINE-HEIGHT: 80%\">L<\/SPAN>Last Friday, October 30, art critics Marianne de Tolentino, Amable L\u00f3pez Mel\u00e9ndez and Abil Peralta Ag\u00fcero participated in the panel &#8220;Tribute to Ram\u00f3n Oviedo&#8221;, organized by the Ministry of Culture in coordination with the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) and the Organizing Committee of the 28th National Biennial of Visual Arts &#8211; Santo Domingo 2015.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The event was held in the auditorium of the Museum of Modern Art, where the panelists shared with the public and with Oviedo\u2019s family members their impressions and experiences about the professional and personal life of the great master of fine arts.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Art critic Marianne de Tolentino, Director of the National Gallery of Fine Arts and an expert on the Dominican and Caribbean art, highlighted Maestro Oviedo\u2019s originality, professionalism and the strokes in his self-portraits.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>In turn, Abil Peralta Ag\u00fcero, author of more than a hundred essays and reviews for catalogs, newspapers and national and international magazines, and Cultural Advisor\/Coordinator of the Technical Unit of Culture at the House of Representatives of the National Congress, recounted his stories and experiences with Oviedo, revealing a human being with extraordinary training and sensitivity for the arts in its various forms.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The panel concluded with the words of Amable L\u00f3pez Mel\u00e9ndez, Chief Curator of the Museum of Modern Art, art critic and, for more than a decade, writer of contemporary art in Are\u00edto, the cultural supplement of the HOY newspaper, who said that Oviedo\u2019s pieces are characterized by their intense reflection on the human condition, the existential contradictions and the complex relationship between artistic practice, socio-cultural space and nature.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Later, the &#8220;Bohemian Night&#8221;, with artist Pavel Nu\u00f1ez and his orchestra, took place in the courtyard of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM).
