The event was aimed at creating a space for research, learning and interaction among the students that are pursuing the various careers that make up the curricular program offered by the institution of higher technical education.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><\/P><br \/>\n<P>The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ligia Amada Melo who cut the ribbon and formally opened the event. She was accompanied by the ITSC Rector, Doctor V\u00edctor Hugo L\u00e1ncer, the Academic Vice Rector, Professor Mar\u00eda Corporan, the Vice Rector for Community Engagement, Mr. Crist\u00f3bal Polanco, and the faculty of the Department of Tourism, led by the School Coordinator, Gloria Alina Vald\u00e9s.<br \/>\n<P>For the Ministry of Tourism, the Director of National Tourism, Milka Hern\u00e1ndez, was in charge of organizing the event. Together with the MITUR team that oversees fairs, she had the responsibility of judging the stands that were created by the students and the main tourist destinations of our country: Costa Caribe-Juan Dolio, Puerto Plata, Jarabacoa-Constanza, Costa \u00c1mbar-Puerto Plata, Macao-Punta Cana. La Altagracia Province, Barahona, Montecristi, Saman\u00e1-Las Terrenas, Peravia-Palenque, Azua, and Nagua Cabrera.<br \/>\n<P>The event was enhanced with lectures by experts from the priority areas of the tourism sector and representatives of various clusters, who covered topics such as: Dominican Republic: Tourist Country, Orgullo de mi tierra, Puerto Plata Destination, Puerto Plata Community Tourism Development, Dominican Republic Protected Areas, and Dominican Cuisine.<br \/>\n<P>Visitors to this First &#8220;Mi Tierra por dentro&#8221;
