This event took place in the Latin American and Caribbean Hall of the Pedro Henr\u00edquez Ure\u00f1a Library, located in the Plaza de la Cultura Juan Pablo Duarte.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Basilio Belliard, MINC\u2019s Director of Literary Management, chaired the literary meeting along with Mr. Carlos Santos, Deputy Minister of Institutional Development; Luis O. Brea Franco, Advisor to the MINC; Historian Bernardo Vega, and Omar Oviedo, artist and grandson of Maestro Ram\u00f3n Oviedo, to whom this edition of the magazine is dedicated, on the occasion of receiving the National Award of Plastic Arts.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The writers who attended the meeting included Manuel Mora Serrano and Luis Shecker, in addition to an audience interested in arts and culture.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>In his opening speech, Belliard said: &#8220;Since its first release in 2006, this publication of the Ministry of Culture for cultural and literary dissemination, has maintained an editorial line of plurality, openness and dialogue with the national and international intellectual community&#8221;.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>In the pages of every issue of the magazine, poems, short stories, literary criticism, essays, interviews and articles or chronicles come together.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>He underlined that this issue of the magazine includes a wonderful interview with poet Juan Carlos Mestre, a rigorous philosophical essay by Xabier Insausti on Adorno and Hegel; an article by Miguel Angel Perdomo regarding Marcio Veloz Maggiolo\u2019s short story La f\u00e9rtil agon\u00eda del amor, among other pieces.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Luis O. Brea Franco also spoke during the ceremony. He noted that since his arrival at the Ministry of Culture he has observed the quality, beautiful layout and rich content of the publication. He also said that some time ago the publication received some reviews and comments, which Belliard accepted, and which resulted in the enhancement of the publication and its contents.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Amado Santana is responsible for the design and layout of the magazine. The illustrations have been created by Maestro Ram\u00f3n Oviedo. The next issue of the magazine will honor Master Painter Ada Balc\u00e1cer.
