This edition of the festival comprises four outstanding theater performances that are all being staged by women who have a longstanding career in the Dominican theater.<STRONG> <\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P class=quote style=\"BORDER-TOP: #cccccc 1px solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #cccccc 1px solid; WIDTH: 30%; BORDER-BOTTOM: #cccccc 1px solid; FLOAT: right; PADDING-BOTTOM: 8px; PADDING-TOP: 8px; PADDING-LEFT: 8px; MARGIN: 20px; BORDER-LEFT: #cccccc 1px solid; PADDING-RIGHT: 8px; BACKGROUND-COLOR: whitesmoke\">This Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m., the May Flower Pocket presentation will take place with the participation of art critic Carmen Heredia de Guerrero. <STRONG>Admission is Free.<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>This V edition of the Pocket Theater will open with the presentation of the play \u201c<STRONG>Flor de Mayo<\/STRONG> (May Flower)\u201d by the Guloya Theater, interpreted by Actress Viena Gonz\u00e1lez and directed by Claudio Rivera. On the second weekend, Niurka Mota and her show \u201c<STRONG>Nosotras lo Hacemos Mejor <\/STRONG>(We Do it Better)\u201d will perform under the direction of Elvira Taveras. On the third weekend, \u201c<STRONG>Johanna Padana y el Descubrimiento de Am\u00e9rica <\/STRONG>(Johanna Padana and the Discovery of America)\u201d<STRONG> <\/STRONG>will be on the scene, with the participations of Patricia Mu\u00f1oz and the direction of Manuel Chapuseaux. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>As the closure of the Festival, Otto Coro and Actress Lorena Oliva will present their most recent production \u201c<STRONG>Juana, una Locura de <\/STRONG>Amor (Juana, a Love Madness)\u201d<STRONG> <\/STRONG>with the accompaniment of Actor Canek Denis and the direction of maestro Chapuseaux. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>The Festival commences this Thursday with the presentation of the play \u201c<STRONG>Flor de Mayo<\/STRONG> (May Flower)\u201d, which is based on the novel <EM>\u201cOne Hundred Years of Solitude\u201d, <\/EM>by Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez, and on poems written by Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca. During the play we will bear witness to a situation of domestic precariousness in which a woman vents in a tirade against her husband. This is the story of a woman that is dotted with images, which stem from her own desire: to become a queen.&nbsp; <\/P><br \/>\n<P>This year, the Festival will include a space designated for reflection called <STRONG><EM>The Pocket Lining, <\/EM><\/STRONG>where artists, the public, and art critics will be able to meet and reflect on the impact of the theater on the sensibilities of the public and to appreciate the composition of the theatrical performance. This Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m., the May Flower Pocket presentation will take place with the participation of art critic Carmen Heredia de Guerrero. <STRONG>Admission is Free.<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>The Festival will be held from September 4th to the 28th, and performances will take place in the Otto Coro hall of the Guloya Theater, from Thursday to Saturday at 8:30 p.m., and on Sundays at 6:30 p.m. The cost of tickets for the general public is $400.00, and for students with a valid identification is $300.00.
