It will create opportunities for our artists, and a bridge between our country and the foreign institutions related to this art.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cMaktub\u201d was devised in 2011 by renowned teacher of oriental dance <STRONG>Lorelei Acosta<\/STRONG>, who in previous years won two world competitions in Egypt, the cradle of belly dance, and the country where she teaches every year at the <STRONG>Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival<\/STRONG>, one of the most important festivals in the world. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cWe will have over 13 hours of workshops with 5 important teachers visiting from Hungary, Spain, and Argentina, as well as 3 international shows with them and other invited dancers from Japan, Spain, United States, Puerto Rico, Austria, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. This will be the first time that many foreigners from various countries will come to perform and to study belly dance in our country\u201d, said an excited Lorelei Acosta, prizewinner dancer and organizer of the event.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Countries such as the United States, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Mexico, among others, have great festivals of this nature. This year the Dominican Republic joins this great group, bringing to the Caribbean, for the first time, the internationally acclaimed master of belly dance <STRONG>Mercedes Nieto from Hungary, Dorisha from Spain, and from Argentina, FadhilaNur, MatiasPirchi (the 2013 world champion of Arab folklore) and Mahyra Saad<\/STRONG>.
