The new Dictionary of Dominican Spanish will be released in Puerto Rico<\/STRONG> T<\/SPAN>he Dominican Academy of Language (ADL) will release the new edition of the Dictionary of Dominican Spanish in the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 10th, 2014. The following persons will be in charge of presenting the lexicographical work: Bruno Rosario Candelier, Fabio Guzm\u00e1n Ariza, director and member of the Dominican Academy of Languages, respectively; and Maia Sherwood, member of the Lexicography Commission of the Puerto Rican Academy.<\/P> This edition, which was produced under the auspices of the Guzm\u00e1n Ariza Foundation, will be released at the headquarters of the Puerto Rican Academy of the Spanish Language, located in Old San Juan. Words and phrases such as vaina, yipeta, chin, p\u00e1jaro (referring to a homosexual), pato macho, creerse la \u00faltima coca-cola del desierto, prende la luz, lech\u00f3n, pariguayo, \u00f1apa, ah\u00ed fue donde la puerca retorci\u00f3 el rabo, or jalar aire,are just some of the examples included in this dictionary.<\/P> Fabio Guzm\u00e1n stressed that it is “the most iconic and important work published by the Dominican Academy of Languages since its inception in 1927”.<\/P> Contributors who included their publications in the dictionary are Fabio Guzm\u00e1n,Roberto Guzm\u00e1n, Domingo Caba Ramos, Mar\u00eda Dolores Jim\u00e9nez, Teresa Meli\u00e1n, Yolanda Garisoain Iribarren and Ruth Ruiz, with the coordination of Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Rinc\u00f3n and the supervision of Bruno Rosario Candelier.<\/P> The new Dictionary of Dominican Spanish will be released in Puerto RicoSanto Domingo, Dominican Republic, 04\/10\/2014 The Dominican Academy of Language (ADL) will release the new edition of the Dictionary of Dominican Spanish in the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 10th, 2014. The new Dictionary of the Dominican Spanish includes Dominican everyday expressions, with almost 11 thousand entries, some 22,000 definitions and more than 8,000 illustrations, displayed throughout its 800 pages.<\/P>
