Jazz Nights Return to the Area<\/STRONG> A<\/SPAN>fter a successful first season of the \u201cJazz Nights in The Area\u201d, which took place in December, 2013, the public who loves the area, the music and the culture has been waiting minute by minute for the announcement of the start of the 2014 Season!<\/P> During the 5 events that made up the last season, the public packed the stairs of the Calle El Conde on each of the five presentations, greatly enjoying the varied and passionate programs presented by Josean Jacobo & Tumbao, the Carlito Estrada Quartet, Joshy & his 4 Jazz, the Jordi Masalles Quartet, and the Jazz Big Band of the National Conservatory of Music.<\/P> These concerts were part of the cultural tourist entertainment plan that was being implemented by MITUR-IDB\u2019s Program to Foster Tourism in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo for the month of December, under the direction of Colonial Sounds by Jazz in the Dominican Republic. And now the formal start of the 2014 season is set to take place. This phase of the program includes the April, May and June of 2014 quarter.<\/P> The first concert will take place on Thursday, April 3, and the Jordi Masalles Quartet will be responsible for the Jazz Nights in the Area<\/STRONG>. Jordi and his musicians performed at the closing of the December event in front of almost 1,700 people. On this occasion, he brings together three friends to complete a very eclectic quartet of drums, bass, guitar and saxophone. He is joined by Jerem\u00edas King on bass, Iv\u00e1n Carbuccia on the electrifying guitar, Jes\u00fas \u201cGury\u201d Abreu on saxophones, and by his special guest, Otoniel Nicol\u00e1s on percussion. They will offer a night of jazz with fusions of jazz and rich native rhythms of our island, plus the standard Jazz and Blues!<\/P> The event is set in a Lounge room at the Escalinatas de la Calle El Conde in the Colonial City.
