




{"id":6843,"date":"2014-02-20T13:09:02","date_gmt":"2014-02-20T09:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dominicana-online.org\/?p=6843"},"modified":"2014-02-20T13:09:02","modified_gmt":"2014-02-20T09:09:02","slug":"noti5353","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dominicanaonline.org\/en\/noti5353\/","title":{"rendered":"Chefs Tita and Catherine Lemoine will apply their knowledge in projects that the Office of the Vice President is developing to fight against hunger in the Dominican Republic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><BR><br \/>\n<TABLE class=texto width=\"90%\" border=0><br \/>\n<TBODY><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top width=70><IMG class=thinborderfloat1 border=0 alt=\"Chefs Tita and Catherine Lemoine will apply their knowledge in projects that the Office of the Vice President is developing to fight against hunger in the Dominican Republic\" src=\"\/portal\/noticias\/5353_65.jpg\" width=65><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top width=7><BR><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD class=texto style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top align=left><br \/>\n<P><STRONG><SPAN lang=EN-US>Chefs Tita and Catherine Lemoine will apply their knowledge in projects that the Office of the Vice President is developing to fight against hunger in the Dominican Republic<\/SPAN><\/STRONG><BR>Santo Domingo, February 20, 2014 <\/P><br \/>\n<P><SPAN style=\"FONT-SIZE: 35px; FONT-FAMILY: Georgia,; FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: chocolate; LETTER-SPACING: -6px; LINE-HEIGHT: 80%\">W<\/SPAN>ith the support of the Office of the Vice President of the Republic, renowned Dominican Chef In\u00e9s P\u00e1ez (Chef Tita) and Venezuelan Chef Catherine Lemoine, participated in the International Gastronomy Fair Madrid Fusion 2014, with the purpose of updating their culinary knowledge and then applying what they learned to the National Program for Food Safety and Nutrition \u201cCero Hambre\u201d (Zero Hunger), run by the government.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Vice President Margarita Cede\u00f1o de Fern\u00e1ndez supported their participation in the fair, considering that the native chef has developed an innovative kitchen concept that goes hand in hand with the actions taken by the Social Policy Coordination Cabinet, which involves the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Catherine Lemoine is also an expert on Asian food, carrying out gastronomic research on Thai food, for which she visited major cities and regions of Thailand.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cLa Nueva Cocina Dominicana\u201d (The New Dominican Cuisine) initiative, implemented by Chef Tita, has important similarities with the programs \u201cComer es Primero\u201d (Eating comes First) and \u201cChef contra el hambre\u201d (Chef against hunger) conducted by Dr. Cede\u00f1o de Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Madrid Fusion is celebrated since 2003, traditionally during the month of January, at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos, Campo de las Naciones in Madrid, where chefs of enormous prestige participate, both Spaniard and from the rest of the world, such as chefs Juan Mari Arzak, Ferr\u00e1n Adri\u00e1, Mart\u00edn Berasategui, Joan Roca, Paco Roncero and Quique Da Costa, among others.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>About Chefs Tita and Lemoine <\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Chef Tita has been designated \u201cAmbassador of Dominican cuisine to the world\u201d because she is the first native chef to focus her line of cooking and create the project Rescue of Dominican Gastronomy, and for projecting a New Dominican Cuisine, with the trends and the forefront of modern times to place it in the arena of the world&#8217;s greatest cuisines.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>She has conducted research for 12 years, both at the national and international levels, on the origins and the history of Dominican products and cooking habits, and promotes the use of native foods.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>She holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Hospitality and Tourism from UNIBE and a Diploma in Culinary Arts from the Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Madre y Maestra; she has explored gastronomic venues such as Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Spain.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>She owns the restaurant Traves\u00edas and also leads the program &#8220;Gourmet Cuisine&#8221; that is broadcasted nationally and internationally.
