Admission to the event was free of charge.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>In this opportunity, the show was dedicated to a glory of the national dance, teacher Marily Gallardo, for her contributions to the permanence of the Afro-Antillean roots. She received a plaque of recognition.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Other awards of the night went to Teacher Martha Beatriz N\u00fa\u00f1ez, for supporting the development of dance; Pedro Julio Quezada, for his contributions to popular culture; Jos\u00e9 Encarnaci\u00f3n (Jos\u00e9 Tambora), and Teacher Manuela Feliz for their more than two decades dedicated to teaching folkloric rhythms. All received plaques of recognition and the enthusiastic applause of the audience.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>Xenia Rodr\u00edguez, from the Teatro Popular Danzante Foundation, and Luis de los Santos, Director of the Narciso Gonz\u00e1lez Center, and Jos\u00e9 Cuello, presented the awards.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The event opened with the presentation of popular songs such as \u201cCa\u00f1a Brava\u201d, and then a polka, palo dance, machac\u00f3, and pasa pie were presented.
