Minister of Culture visits Chinatown<\/SPAN><\/STRONG> T<\/SPAN>he Minister Culture, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rodr\u00edguez, together with his Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Tom\u00e1s Ping-Fu Hou, attended a show on the occasion of the celebration marking the beginning of the Chinese New Year dedicated to the \u201cWooden Horse\u201d. While the Chinese counterpart was in charge of the dance group Los Leones, who performed some dance pieces of the Chinese culture and traditional music, with songs and dances, and interacting with the public.<\/P> Su Kin Fung, President of the Chinese Community, expressed his joy and congratulated all participants, especially Minister Rodr\u00edguez and all the associations of families of that great nation, who work in the trade sector and live with dignity in the Dominican Republic. Singer and songwriter Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rodr\u00edguez enjoyed the celebration with his wife M\u00f3nica Despradel, as well as the Eastern diplomat with his wife Mar\u00eda Hsiao, in Chinatown, on Avenida Duarte, where a tent was placed and hundreds of people attended.
Other members of the Chinese community who were present were the new President of the Dominican Medical Association, Dr. Pedro Sing, and Haivangoe NG Corti\u00f1as, former national Comptroller.
Amid the joy and the excitement, the invited guests enjoyed songs by Tr\u00edo Santo Domingo, of the Ministry of Tourism, who performed, among other songs, \u201cQuerube\u201d and \u201cSarandonga\u201d. <\/P>

He spoke of the importance of keeping alive each of the ancient traditions and said that with the New Year comes a new phase that he hopes will be successful.
The Horse is a symbol of strength, love, patience, stability, and determination, and for those born in the year of the Horse, it is the time to start something new.<\/P>
