Ministry of Culture announces the winner of the Mini Fiction National Contest<\/SPAN><\/STRONG> T<\/SPAN>he Ministry of Culture, through the Directorate of Literary Management, announced that writer Nam Chevalier was the winner of the “III National Contest of Mini Fiction 2013” with his book El domador de fieras y otros nanorrelatos (The beast tamer and other mini stories).<\/P> The winning mini story was submitted under the pseudonym “Gravedad 0,” whose identity was made public when the envelope with the actual data of the author was opened in the presence of notary public Nelson Matos Quezada.<\/P> The details were disclosed during a meeting that took place in the conference room of the Directorate of the Book Fair, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rodr\u00edguez, who was accompanied by Valent\u00edn Amaro, Director General of the Book Fair; Pedro Antonio Valdez, Executive Director; Basilio Belliard, Director of Literary Management; and, Nerva Fondeur, Coordinator of the Vice Ministry of Cultural Heritage.<\/P> Also in attendance were writers Alfonso Caraballo, Rossanna Delgado and Emelda Ramos, who were part of the 22 participants in the contest.<\/P> The jury was composed of intellectuals Rafael Garc\u00eda Romero, Angela Hern\u00e1ndez and Luis Mart\u00edn G\u00f3mez.<\/P> The winner of the contest will receive 50,000 pesos and his work will be published through the National Editing House. It was agreed that a book containing the mini stories that were not selected as winners in this contest would also be published. Nam Chevalier will be in charge of selecting them.
