




{"id":6587,"date":"2013-09-27T11:59:53","date_gmt":"2013-09-27T07:59:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dominicana-online.org\/?p=6587"},"modified":"2013-09-27T11:59:53","modified_gmt":"2013-09-27T07:59:53","slug":"noti5102","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dominicanaonline.org\/en\/noti5102\/","title":{"rendered":"18 cultural projects from four provinces were approved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><BR><br \/>\n<TABLE class=texto width=\"90%\" border=0><br \/>\n<TBODY><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top width=70><IMG class=thinborderfloat1 border=0 alt=\"18 cultural projects from four provinces were approved\" src=\"\/portal\/noticias\/5102_65.jpg\" width=65><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top width=7><BR><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD class=texto style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top align=left><br \/>\n<P><STRONG><SPAN lang=EN-US>18 cultural projects from four provinces were approved<\/SPAN><\/STRONG><BR>Santo Domingo, September 24, 2013 <\/P><br \/>\n<P><SPAN style=\"FONT-SIZE: 35px; FONT-FAMILY: Georgia,; FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: chocolate; LETTER-SPACING: -6px; LINE-HEIGHT: 80%\">A<\/SPAN> total of 18 cultural projects were approved on Saturday, to be implemented in the provinces of Peravia, Azua, San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa, and San Crist\u00f3bal, with the support of the Ministry of Culture. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>The announcement was made by the Minister of Culture, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rodr\u00edguez, at the conclusion of the third meeting of the First National Call for Cultural Projects, which was held at the Perell\u00f3 Cultural Center in this city.<BR><BR>Amid the applause from the cultural managers who filled the hall where the projects were presented, discussed, and selected, the Minister of Culture also informed that seven other initiatives will receive an institutional response to be implemented in those provinces.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The following projects were approved for the province of Azua de Compostela: \u201cLa Edici\u00f3n en dos tomos de la Historia General de Azua (The Publication in Two Volumes of the General History of Azua),\u201d \u201cAzua, Ciudad Poes\u00eda (Azua, Poetry City),\u201d \u201cFormaci\u00f3n de Ballet Folkl\u00f3rico de Azua (Training of the Azua Folkloric Ballet),\u201d \u201cEscuela de Canto Popular (School of Popular Singing),\u201d and \u201cFestival Cine Triple CCC de Cine Creativo y Cultural (Triple CCC Creative and Cultural Film Festival).\u201d <\/P><br \/>\n<P class=quote style=\"BORDER-TOP: #cccccc 1px solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #cccccc 1px solid; WIDTH: 30%; BORDER-BOTTOM: #cccccc 1px solid; FLOAT: right; PADDING-BOTTOM: 8px; PADDING-TOP: 8px; PADDING-LEFT: 8px; MARGIN: 20px; BORDER-LEFT: #cccccc 1px solid; PADDING-RIGHT: 8px; BACKGROUND-COLOR: whitesmoke\">Of the projects submitted by the representatives of the provinces of San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa, the following were approved: \u201cThe Ta\u00edno Route of Rancho Arriba\u201d and the \u201cCreation of a seed fund to establish the Museum of Ocoa Traditions.\u201d<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The following initiatives were approved for San Crist\u00f3bal: \u201cApalancamiento Cultural de San Agust\u00edn (San Agust\u00edn Cultural Leverage),\u201d \u201cHaina, para que regrese el diablo Cojuelo (Haina, for the return of the Cojuelo devil),\u201d \u201cFormaci\u00f3n y difusi\u00f3n de la m\u00fasica de atabales, ritmos folcl\u00f3ricos de San Crist\u00f3bal (Training and dissemination of drum music, folk rhythms of San Crist\u00f3bal),\u201d \u201cDesarrollo del Turismo Cultural en la Provincia de San Crist\u00f3bal (Development of Cultural Tourism in the San Crist\u00f3bal Province),\u201d \u201cCentro Cultural Artesanal de Cambita Garabito (Cambita Garabito Cultural Crafts Center),\u201d \u201cSal\u00f3n Constitucional de Arte Joven (Young Art Constitutional Hall),\u201d and \u201cConcurso Anual de Artes Pl\u00e1sticas Multidisciplinarias (Annual Contest of Multidisciplinary Arts).\u201d<\/P><br \/>\n<P>The approved projects for the province of Peravia are: \u201cConstrucci\u00f3n de espacio f\u00edsico para promover la cultura de Nizao (Building of a physical space to promote the Nizao culture),\u201d \u201cEscuela taller de formaci\u00f3n de mu\u00f1ecas de trapo (Training workshop on rag dolls),\u201d \u201cFormaci\u00f3n de grupos de atalabes (Training for drum groups),\u201d and \u201cRa\u00edces y tradiciones de la Sant\u00edsima Cruz (Roots and traditions of the Most Holy Cross),&#8221; among others. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>In presenting the pre-selected projects at the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Carlos Santos, reported that 78 was the total number of projects that were presented, of which 25 were initially pre-selected. Of these, 18 were approved and seven would receive an institutional or inter-institutional response, which means that they will not be funded by the RD$100,000,000 available for those projects. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>As he announced the selected projects, the Minister of Culture Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rodr\u00edguez said that the purpose of the call is to create mechanisms that effectively contribute to facilitate the exercise of the rights of all Dominicans, as stated in the constitution of the Republic and in the National Development Strategy. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>During the meeting, the Minister shared that his agency has a modern recording studio, one of the largest in the country, in terms of the number of technical equipment, which will help to create a record of the national rhythms.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>That project will begin with the recordings of the famous Chuineros of Ban\u00ed, whom he urged to get their best couplets ready. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>He also informed that the traditionalist painting (pintura costumbrista) contest will be announced in November, through an alliance between the Ministries of Culture and of Tourism. The goal is to fill the tourist areas of the country with traditionalist paintings. <BR>The meetings were led by the Minister of Culture accompanied by Carlos Santos, Deputy Minister of Institutional Development; Nelson Camilo Landestoy, Municipa Trustee of Ban\u00ed; Carlos Salcedo, Cabinet Director; Nerva Fondeur, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage; Luis O.
