




{"id":6415,"date":"2013-06-28T10:49:23","date_gmt":"2013-06-28T06:49:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dominicana-online.org\/?p=6415"},"modified":"2013-06-28T10:49:23","modified_gmt":"2013-06-28T06:49:23","slug":"noti4935","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dominicanaonline.org\/en\/noti4935\/","title":{"rendered":"Long Night of the Museums, Summer Version."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><BR><br \/>\n<TABLE class=texto width=\"90%\" border=0><br \/>\n<TBODY><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top width=70><IMG class=thinborderfloat1 border=0 alt=\"Long Night of the Museums, Summer Version\" src=\"\/portal\/noticias\/AlcazarPrincipal.JPG\" width=65><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top width=7><BR><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD class=texto style=\"HEIGHT: 963px\" vAlign=top align=left><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Long Night of the Museums, Summer Version.<\/STRONG><BR>Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic 28\/06\/13<\/P><br \/>\n<P><SPAN style=\"FONT-SIZE: 35px; FONT-FAMILY: Georgia,; FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: chocolate; LETTER-SPACING: -6px; LINE-HEIGHT: 80%\">T<\/SPAN>&nbsp;hroughout the entire day, the Alc\u00e1zar de Col\u00f3n Museum successfully implemented a program of activities during the recent &#8220;Long Night of the Museums, Summer Version,&#8221; which was organized by the Ministry of Culture. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>With an attractive &#8220;Colonial and contemporary dance,&#8221; the Alc\u00e1zar de Col\u00f3n Museum completed its program of activities during the &#8220;Long Night of the Museums, Summer Version,&#8221; when a group of dancers, under the direction of Jorge Mendoza, delighted the hundreds of people who gathered in the vicinity of Plaza Espa\u00f1a. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>With the general organization of the Ministry of Culture, the Alc\u00e1zar de Col\u00f3n Museum, under the leadership of Raysa Astacio, was again part of this project, where music and dance blended with the colonial elements of the buildings in the area. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>The program of the Alc\u00e1zar de Col\u00f3n Museum included the presentation of a quintet from the National Conservatory of Music, under the direction of Dante Cucurullo, and the street theater &#8220;Asalto Pirata (Pirate Assault)&#8221; by the Traveling Theater, under the direction of Carlota Carretero. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>Raysa Astacio welcomed the Minister of Culture, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rodr\u00edguez, who enjoyed the recreation of the colonial streets, by Arvin Pedriglieri and Vic Lioce, architecture students at PUCAMAIMA, where Guillermo Liriano led the public to the statue of Don Diego Col\u00f3n, while dance students from the Narciso Gonz\u00e1lez Cultural Center of UNAPEC and the Sangre Mulata (Mulata Blood) Folkloric Ballet performed. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>&#8220;We are very pleased to again be part of this arts event, where we provide a space for culture through history,&#8221; stated Raysa Astacio. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>Dramatizations took place throughout the day during the course of the guided tours at the Alc\u00e1zar de Col\u00f3n Museum, as well as on the Mar\u00eda de Toledo and the Diego Col\u00f3n streets, which were represented in the staging of the esplanade of the Plaza Espa\u00f1a. Also, there were presentations by Mssrs. Kin S\u00e1nchez Fern\u00e1ndez, Orqu\u00eddea Mart\u00edn and Santiago Duval; a &#8220;colonial cinema&#8221; where the activities that were implemented during the years 2012 and 2013 were screened. The master of ceremonies was the award-winning and renowned presenter Patricia Soto. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>In addition, the Alc\u00e1zar de Col\u00f3n Museum installed an exhibit of 11 photos portraying scenes such as the first Mass that was celebrated in the Americas; the first metal coins that circulated in the Americas; of Santo Domingo; of the Viceroyal Court; of the first peace agreement; and of the Cathedral and the Autonomous University.
