Dominican Republic and Germany Sign a Mutual Investment Protection Agreement<\/STRONG> Chancellor Merkel said as soon as the agreement is signed, it will promote investors in the areas of energy to evaluate the numerous opportunities available in the Dominican Republic, mainly in the area of wind farms and other forms of non-polluting energy.<\/P>The Dominican President, upon announcing the agreement, said that it seeks investment incentives between the two countries and that it bestows upon investors a sense of confidence and legality. He added that this initiative will strengthen the capacity to do business in both countries. <\/P> German Chancellor Angel Merkel said that this is a transcendental agreement because it will provide major guarantees to those who wish to make investments in the Dominican Republic and vice-versa, according to the President\u2019s Office of Information, Press and Publicity<\/STRONG>. <\/P> Upon the announcement of the signing, President Fern\u00e1ndez said the Dominican Republic has a great deal of interest in encouraging investment in the DR especially in the area of generating clean and non-conventional energy. <\/P> Chancellor Merkel said as soon as the agreement is signed, it will promote investors in the areas of energy to evaluate the numerous opportunities available in the Dominican Republic, mainly in the area of wind farms and other forms of non-polluting energy.<\/P> The agreement was announced at a press conference given by Fern\u00e1ndez and Merkel after their meeting in the German government headquarters.
