Korea Interested in Professional Technical Training in Dominican Republic <\/STRONG> The Korean diplomat said that, although he has only been in the DR for two years, his government has a great deal of interest in investing in various areas such as the work Korea…<\/P> Following a visit to the National Institute for Professional Technical Training (INFOTEP in Spanish), Isaa Tsai praised the work being done by this institution in the area of training human resources training to work in the most essential areas in the country as well as abroad. <\/SPAN><\/P> At the meeting with INFOTEP, Mr. Tsai was received by the Director General, Josefina Pimentel, who was accompanied by the Deputy Director, Idionis P\u00e9rez and manager for International Relations and External Resources, Edgar Pimentel Yost.<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN><\/P> The Korean diplomat said that, although he has only been in the DR for two years, his government has a great deal of interest in investing in various areas such as the work Korea is doing with such organizations as the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD), the Women\u2019s Ministry and other organizations that deal with the preservation of water. <\/SPAN><\/P> Isaa Tsai pointed to the work being done to further professional and technical training being carried out by INFOTEP, adding that he was pleasantly surprised by the achievements made by the institution in the area of training for productive work. <\/SPAN><\/P> Josefina Pimentel was pleased with the Ambassador\u2019s visit and reiterated her desire to establish strong links with Korea in order to be able to transfer and exchange knowledge and technology. <\/SPAN><\/P> She added that INFOTEP is working to improve productivity and professional training saying that these areas are of great importance for the development of the Dominican nation.<\/SPAN><\/P> Ms. Pimentel stated that INFOTEP\u2019s goal for the end of 2010 is to have been able to positively impact the labor force through their ongoing training of 329,000 young people and adults. She highlighted the fact that, during the past 30 years, since the institution has been functioning in Dominican society, it has carried out training programs that have benefitted more than two million people, many of whom have notably improved their quality of life. <\/SPAN><\/P> Josefina Pimentel, Director General of INFOTEP exchanges impressions with Isaa Tsai, the Korean Ambassador in the DR.
