Mr. Rivas said, in addition, that the CAASD is in the position of collaborating with workers and specialized technicians in the rehabilitation of aqueduct networks. They have experts to work with the issue of drinking water. “In the face of catastrophes like this earthquake, we can go beyond the limitations of our service area, which is the province of Santo Domingo and the National District (the capital) to be in a place that urgently needs drinking water,” said Rivas.

The Corporation of Aqueduct and Sewers of Santo Domingo will be part of the formal initiation of the humanitarian aid operation which is beginning of Thursday the 14th and is leaving from the border town Jimaní as part of the operation called for by the government of President Leonel Fernández to take food, medicine, clothing and water to the thousands made homeless by the 7.3 earthquake that shook Haiti on Tuesday.
