Tourism Promotion Office in Brazil and Taca Airlines Train Travel Agents in Rio <\/STRONG><\/P> T<\/SPAN><\/SPAN>he Dominican Tourism Promotion Office (OPT in Spanish) in Brazil and Taca Airlines provided training sessions to a group of important travel agents from Rio de Janeiro. She said the training activity is part of the promotion strategy delineated by Tourism Minister Francisco Javier Garc\u00eda, in an effort to position the DR as the main host to international tourists in the Caribbean.
Arias gave a presentation on the tourism infrastructure of the country, in addition to its paradise-like attractions made up of beaches, mountains, history, culture, food, merengue dancing, and handcrafts, among other things.
Throughout the activity, Taca Airlines reinforced its initiative to offer more frequent flights from Rio de Janeiro to Santo Domingo, with stops in Lima, Peru, on flights that operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Arias noted that Rio de Janeiro is a constantly growing market in relation to the Dominican Republic and that travel agents from this city are asking for more information about the DR to offer their clients.
She added that as a way of supplying information on the novelties of the DR, the OPT in Brazil will intensify the training session in the upcoming second half of the year with the idea of training professionals from all over Brazil.
“Our goal is to disseminate information on the Dominican Republic for the largest number of Brazilian travel agents as possible so that they can sell the DR as a destination and charm the tourists as they talk about the possibilities of pleasure, business and fun in our country,\u201d she said.
