Morales Troncoso made the announcement at the special session for the consideration and resolution of conflicts of the African Union, currently underway in Addis Ababa and attended by nearly 50 presidents, heads of state and princes from the continent of Africa, according to the President\u2019s Office of Information, Press and Publicity.
The memorandum of understanding between the Libyan and Dominican governments establishes bilateral cooperation in the areas of politics, economy, commerce, science and culture, explained Morales Troncoso who emphasized that the Dominican Republic is strategically important due to its geographic situation. He noted that the agreement will further relations and cooperation between the African Union and the Caribbean community as well as strengthen the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries in its search to consolidate South-South cooperation.
\u201cWe have agreed to pay attention to international affairs on the global agenda, particularly to the strengthening of peace and international security and the reform of the United Nations Security Council,\u201d said Morales Troncoso
The Dominican Republic and Libya have agreed to establish a mechanism to carry out periodic high level consultations in areas of interest to both countries and to strengthen relations for the protection of the environment.
