It also shows a conceptual command and appropriate handling of the sources of study on the subject and an adequate level of language applied to the social sciences, explained a press release from the Ministry of Culture. <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>The 206-page book contains passages that introduce the Dominican woman as an emigrant and an immigrant in \u201cTheories on Emigration,\u201d \u201cThe Feminist Movement in Latin America,\u201d \u201cDefending the State \u2013 Women\u2019s Contribution,\u201d \u201cThe Reality of Women in Latin America\u201d and \u201cThe Reality of Women in the Dominican Republic.\u201d <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>Also, \u201cWomen in the Diaspora,\u201d \u201cThe Reality of a Transnational Life,\u201d \u201cThe Dominican Woman Here and There\u201d and \u201cNotes for a Common Future.\u201d <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>Antonio M\u00e9ndez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He did his secondary studies at the Manuel Rodr\u00edguez Obj\u00edo School. In 1979, he immigrated to New York City where he finished his degree in Political Science, History and Sociology. He later did his post-grad in History and Social Services Administration and earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
