FONT-FAMILY: Georgia,; FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: chocolate; LETTER-SPACING: -6px; LINE-HEIGHT: 80%\">B<\/SPAN>razil, Guest of Honor at the XII International Book Fair of Santo Domingo 2009, on Tuesday opened its pavilion to visitors who used the occasion to pick up the schedule of the wide array of events being offered by Brazil at this Dominican cultural festival. <\/P><br \/>\n<P class=quote style=\"BORDER-TOP: #cccccc 1px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: whitesmoke\">\u201cWe chose 4 central themes: carnivals, books and literature, public policy and the production chain for books.\u201d <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>The opening of the pavilion was headed by Deputy Minister for Institutional Development, Mateo Morrison who was accompanied by Brazilian Ambassador in the DR, Ronaldo Edgar Dunlop; General Manager of the Book Fair, Alejandro Arvelo and Cultural Secretary from the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, Am\u00e9rico C\u00f3rdula. <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>Mateo Morrison, representing Dominican Minister of Culture Jos\u00e9 Rafael Lantigua, expressed satisfaction at being able to enjoy the creativity of the Brazilian people at this edition of the Book Fair. <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>Am\u00e9rico C\u00f3rdula, expressing Brazil\u2019s gratitude for the being able to participate in the Fair, said that his government has prepared a program that represents the rich cultural heritage and diversity of his country. <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>He said the Brazilian program includes Portuguese language classes, creative workshops, discussions, colloquiums, story readings and other activities. \u201cWe chose 4 central themes: carnivals, books and literature, public policy and the production chain for books.\u201d <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>He said the Book Fair represents an opportunity to spontaneously and faithfully present Brazilian culture in all its various expressions: symbolic, economic, rights and citizens. <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>The experts who will be sharing their talent with the Dominican people at the Fair include painter Alberto Pitta and well-known singer Antonio N\u00f3brega. <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>Following the formal opening of the pavilion, the group moved on to the Museum of the Dominican Man to view the opening of an exhibition of 35 years of clothing and costumes from the carnival of Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. <\/P><br \/>\n<P><IMG class=thinborderfloat1 border=0 alt=\"Brasil presenta amplio programa cultural en la XII Feria Internacional del Libro Santo Domingo 2009\" src=\"\/Portal\/noticias\/brasil_feria_500.jpg\" width=500 height=336> <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify><IMG class=thinborderfloat1 border=0 alt=\"Brasil presenta amplio programa cultural en la XII Feria Internacional del Libro Santo Domingo 2009\" src=\"\/Portal\/noticias\/brasil_feria2_500.jpg\" width=500 height=336> <\/P><br \/>\n<P align=justify>Alejandro Arvelo, General Manager of the Book Fair;
