\n		International Book Fair Dedicates Street to Carmen Quidiello de Bosch on First Day <\/STRONG>

T<\/SPAN>he Ministry of Culture (SEC) and the General Management of the Book Fair named one of the streets in the fairgrounds after Carmen Quidiello de Bosch as part of the first day of opening event of the XII International Book Fair being held in the Juan Pablo Duarte Culture Plaza in Santo Domingo. <\/P>
\n

This homage forms part of the Dedication of Streets being held in honor of distinguished persons in the world of intellectuals, historians, poets and others in the area of culture. <\/P>
\n

This inaugural event was attended by Jos\u00e9 Rafael Lantigua, Minister of Culture; Alejandro Arvelo, General Manager of the Book Fair and Mateo Morrison and Alexander Santana, deputy directors of Institutional Development and Administration in the SEC, respectively. Representing Carmen Quidiello and the Juan Bosch Foundation were: Di\u00f3medes N\u00fa\u00f1ez Polanco, Executive Director of the Foundation; Mat\u00edas Bosch, grandson of Juan Bosch; Mar\u00eda Eugenia Pereyra Bosch, niece of Carmen Quidiello de Bosch, and playwright and actor Iv\u00e1n Garc\u00eda Guerra, among others.

This homage forms part of the Dedication of Streets being held in honor of distinguished persons in the world of intellectuals, historians, poets and others in the area of culture.
\n

“Nothing could be more appropriate than the decision to honor Carmen Quidiello de Bosch on the first day of the Book Fair and to be doing so in the Juan Bosch Pavilion because they were both symbols of unity, solidarity and continuity. It is also appropriate to honor this exceptional woman in front of the National Theater which was often the venue for her extraordinary dramatic work,\u201d Alejandro Arvelo said in addressing those present.
\n

\u201cWith this recognition of Carmen we are also offering homage to Juan Bosch,\u201d added Mr. Arvelo, Book Fair General Manager.
\n

In the name of Mrs. Quidiello de Bosch and the Juan Bosch Foundation, Arvelo congratulated actor Iv\u00e1n Garc\u00eda Guerra who read the dedication to the writer and former First Lady, Carmen Quidiello de Bosch.
\n

Garc\u00eda Guerra recalled a quote from Juan Bosch who once said the if he had done anything good in his life, it was having married his wife Carmen. Mrs. Carmen de Bosch was unable to attend the event due to health issues.
\n

Ergos College was the guest of honor at this event. Honor student Laura Arias read a summary of Carmen Quidiello\u2019s biography followed by poet Mar\u00eda Victoria Carre\u00f1o, Mrs. Bosch\u2019s assistant, who read one of her own poems called \u201cJuan\u2019s Carmen.\u201d Following the dedication, those in attendance went into the Authors Pavilion for a group discussion.
