H<\/SPAN>istorian Juan Daniel Balc\u00e1cer received the Eduardo Le\u00f3n Jimenes 2008 National Book Fair Prize on Tuesday April 29 for his book, \u201cTrujillo: The Tyrannicide of 1961.\u201d <\/EM><\/P> \u201cTrujillo: The Tyrannicide of 1961\u201d was chosen among 48 books that were competing for the country\u2019s most prestigious literary award. <\/P> Jos\u00e9 Rafael Lantigua, Dominican Minister of Culture, and businessman Jos\u00e9 A. Le\u00f3n, president of the Le\u00f3n Jimenes group which created the prize, oversaw the awards presentation which includes a cash prize of RD$400,000. Members of the jury including writers Jos\u00e9 M\u00e1rmol, Mu-Kien Adriana Sang and economist Jos\u00e9 Manuel Guzm\u00e1n Ibarra were present at the ceremony which was held as part of the 11th International Book Fair of Santo Domingo 2008. \u201cTrujillo: The Tyrannicide of 1961\u201d<\/EM> was chosen among 48 books that were competing for the country\u2019s most prestigious literary award. The other competing books represented all genres from literary research to educational.
