One, an Urban Renewable Process in the Tourism Zones, will begin April 14 when President Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez inaugurates Liberation Town that will house residents from the El Tabl\u00f3n neighborhood,\u201d said the tourism minister.<br \/>\n<P>Jim\u00e9nez added that \u201cthese upcoming four years will see a regeneration process of new beaches in Montecristi, Romana, Barahona, and Najayo and Palenque (in San Crist\u00f3bal, SC) as well as a new mountain highway,\u201d that will run between Monci\u00f3n\u2013J\u00e1nico-Jarabacoa-Constanza-Ocoa.<br \/>\n<P>The minister cited two more examples of work to begin this year and 2009 which include, respectively, the remodeling of the port in Puerto Plata and construction of a 4-lane Puerto Plata-Navarrete highway, adding that the construction bids have just been opened.<br \/>\n<P>He also mentioned that the successful publicity campaign carried out by SECTUR abroad has been effective and recognized by important publication as well as foreign investors who have invested an average of $23 million US dollars in the past three years. Jim\u00e9nez pointed out that more than 45% of the hotel rooms in operation today in the Dominican Republic were built between 1996-2000 and 2004-2008, during the administration of President Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez.
