T<\/SPAN>he second convoy of train cars pertaining to the Metro of Santo Domingo arrived in the country on Monday at the East Haina Port and will be immediately incorporated into the system for routine test runs. <\/P> Wagon M-1004 was transported from the Port at Haina to the Opret workshops on a tug boat under strict security accompanied by technicians and members of the Specialized Security Team for the Santo Domingo Metro. In order to offer maximum service to the public, the metro will be comprised of some 17 trains, three of which will have wagons with a capacity to accommodate 240 passengers on each, 60 seated and 190 standing for a total of 700 passengers. The French company Alstom, through corresponding licensing arrangements, is importing 57 wagons to the Dominican Republic \u2013 these make up the 17 trains of the first line that will cover the Villa Mella\/M\u00e1ximo G\u00f3mez\/UASD\/Feria route.
