{"id":1939,"date":"2008-01-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-01-08T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dominicana-online.org\/?p=1939"},"modified":"2008-01-09T00:45:38","modified_gmt":"2008-01-08T20:45:38","slug":"noti598","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dominicanaonline.org\/en\/noti598\/","title":{"rendered":"Dominican Artists To Paint Murals in Puerto Rico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><BR><br \/>\n<TABLE class=texto width=\"90%\" border=0><br \/>\n<TBODY><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD vAlign=top width=70><IMG class=thinborderfloat1 border=0 alt=Murales src=\"\/Portal\/noticias\/murales_65.jpg\" width=65><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD vAlign=top width=7><BR><\/TD><br \/>\n<TD class=texto vAlign=top><br \/>\n<DIV><STRONG><SPAN lang=EN-US>Dominican Artists To Paint Murals in Puerto Rico<\/SPAN><\/STRONG><\/DIV><br \/>\n<DIV><STRONG><SPAN lang=EN-US>&nbsp;<\/SPAN><\/STRONG><\/DIV><STRONG><SPAN lang=EN-US><\/SPAN><\/STRONG><STRONG><SPAN lang=EN-US><\/SPAN><\/STRONG><br \/>\n<DIV><SPAN lang=EN-US>The Dominican-Puerto Rican Foundation and the Do\u00f1a Ruth Basallo Artistic and Environmental Movement is organizing a painting exhibition called \u201cThe Mural Routes\u201d that will open on January 14th in five municipalities in Puerto Rico &#8211; San Germ\u00e1n, Lajas, Hormigueros, Guanica, Ponce, San Juan, Mayag\u00fcez as well as in the Inter-American University<STRONG>.<\/STRONG><BR><BR>The Dominican artists include Juan Bravo, Roberto Flores, Yinelda Fern\u00e1ndez, Francis D\u00edaz, Heddy Santiago, Alexandro Payano, Federico Vel\u00e1squez, H\u00e9ctor Blanco, Sandy Candelario, Lorgio N\u00fa\u00f1ez, Pedro Widdicombe and Wilfredo Tejada Rodr\u00edguez who will paint murals with environmental themes in public places. The murals will be permanent and also serve as a symbol of solidarity and brotherhood between the Dominican Public and Puerto Rico. <\/SPAN><SPAN lang=EN-US><BR><BR>This activity is also meant to pay homage to Do\u00f1a Ruth Basallo, the dedicated organizer&nbsp;of joint Dominican-Puerto Rican cultural activities and who, for the past 30 years, has directed many special artistic events in Puerto Rico.&nbsp; &nbsp; <\/SPAN><\/DIV><br \/>\n<TABLE cellPadding=0 width=225 align=right border=0><br \/>\n<TBODY><br \/>\n<TR><\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><\/TR><\/TBODY><\/TABLE><BR><BR><br \/>\n<DIV><SPAN lang=EN-US><\/SPAN><SPAN lang=EN-US>The mural-painting exhibition is part of various activities being carried out by the Dominican-Puerto Rican Foundation. In the Dominican Republic, journalist Fernando Pe\u00f1a presides over the foundation.
