ACROARTE to Debate Television of Today and Yesterday with Well-Known Media Professionals <\/STRONG><\/P>
\n

Members of the Association of Feature Writers and Art Critics, along with three professionals versed in this area, will analyze the various aspects of current and past trends in Dominican television. They will discuss the country\u00b4s long and cutting-edge tradition of broadcast TV when they participate in the round table discussion, \u201cDominican Television: Its Contents and Its Challenges.\u201d  <\/STRONG><\/P>
\n

\u201cTV in the Dominican Republic, a Great Challenge,\u201d will be analyzed by the master of the spoken word, Yaqui N\u00fa\u00f1ez del Risco. Fernando Hasb\u00fan, television producer, will talk about the \u201cchallenges of informational and news television.\u201d  The authoritative Anita Ontiveros, will participate with her speech, \u201cA Look at Television from Yesterday and Today.\u201d <\/P>
\n

This discussion will take place on Thursday October 18 in the Cultural Hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater starting at 7:00 PM. This event is part of a series organized by the current leadership of ACROARTE, headed by its president Marivell Contreras, in an attempt to involve members of the organization in all areas of art.<\/P>
\n

\u201cIt is important that all of us in ACROARTE have a basic knowledge of television, theater, song, and music in that we are the ones who evaluate the various artistic endeavors that go on in the country. It is only logical and fair that we know who we nominate and who we award prizes to,\u201d Contreras said.<\/P>
\n

In the coming weeks, ACROARTE will announce the next educational activity to be coordinated by its president along with its secretary of education and culture, Mr. Arismendy V\u00e1squez Guare\u00f1o  <\/P>
