Budget Dining Rooms bring their operations to Jimaní

As part of the government’s social programs to guarantee food security for the population, yesterday the State’s Budget Dining Rooms (Comedores Económicos del Estado) brought their operations to several communities of Jimaní, which is located in the Independencia province. More than 2,000 combos containing food products and cooked rations were delivered during the project.

Two mobile kitchen units, which have the capacity to produce 7,500 cooked rations each, were brought to that municipality.

Families in the communities of El Limón, Baitoa, Vengan a Ver, Cristóbal, Boca de Cachón and Angostura benefited from the food that was delivered. The operationswereled by the agency’s General Manager, Mr. Ramón María Rodríguez (Monchy).

Two mobile kitchen units, which have the capacity to produce 7,500 cooked rations each, were brought to that municipality.

The official said that this project is being carried out on instructions from the President, Danilo Medina Sánchez, who has as a priority to address the needs of the most vulnerable populations, especially those located in the South of the country, in order to contribute to poverty reduction.

“With this project the State’sBudget Dining Rooms, continue to strengthen their social assistance program,which operates from the headquarters office and on the basis of a budget that is allocated by the central government,” MonchyRodríguez stated.

He explained that the two thousand combos of food products contain 12 basic food basket products and the capacity to prepare 20 separate dishes, which are the equivalent to 40,000 units.

During the tour the official was accompanied by the provincial Governor, Vianne Medina; David Volquez, Mayor of Jimaní and the community of Vengan a Ver;and Colonel Sergio FerreiraGuzmán, commander of the SeventeenthBattalion of Independencia-Bahoruco, among other dignitaries.
