The APEC University (UANPEC) has undertaken a series of commemorative activities to celebrate Fatherland Month beginning with the publication of the “Biography of Juan Duarte” written by historian Orlando Inoa.


Historian Orlando Inoa stressed that the intention of his new book is to reinforce the diffusion of the thoughts and ideas of the country’s founder.


The launching of the new book in the Doctor Leonel Rodríguez Auditorium of UNAPEC began with a welcoming speech by Justo Pedro Castellanos, UNAPEC’s rector. The book’s author, Orlando Inoa, gave the keynote speech about Juan Pablo Duarte.


Also present was the UNAPEC Dean of General Studies, Andrés L. Mateo; Manuel Núñez, director of the Social Studies Department and Professor José Joaquín Pérez Saviñón, President of the Duarte Institute.

The 252-page book, printed by Letra Gráfica Publishing, is being sold in bookstores in Santo Domingo as well as outside the city.


The commemorative program for Fatherland Month includes they laying of wreathes, conferences, cultural gatherings among other activities.
