As part of the fifth anniversary commemoration of the Leon Center, the Dominican Senate has rendered official recognition of this cultural institution for the support it has given to the “comprehensive promotion and dissemination of culture, art, the environment and the country´s civic and national values.”

José A. León, President of the León Jimenes Group and the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation, received the official certificate of recognition from Reinaldo Pared Pérez, President of the Senate who underscored the Leon Center´s work in the areas of culture and art in the Dominican Republic over the last five years.

“The Leon Center is a point of pride for the Dominican Republic. We are talking about a unique organization in the Caribbean and Central American region, and one of the most comprehensive cultural centers in Latin America. The Leon Center is the product of an impressive business story over 100 years old which has become a model in the national corporate sector. Today we pay tribute on the occasion of your fifth anniversary and to one of the most important principles of the León Jimenes Group: to create a better nation,” said Pared Pérez.

In the name of the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation and the León Jimenes Group, José A. León thanked the Senate for this honor which he described as an incentive to continue promoting and celebrating the wealth and values of our art and culture.

“This meeting motivates us to continue forward, to continue working hard at our León Center which, thanks to the talent and commitment of our staff, has been able to achieve all of its goals. It is an honor and a real boost to continue with this marvelous project which, in five years, has given us immeasurable satisfaction,” said León Asensio.

Also participating in the ceremony was Rafael Emilio Yunén, Director General of the León Center; Francisco Domínguez Brito, Senator from the Province of Santiago and Luis René Canaán, Senator from the Province of Hermanas Mirabal.
