Presentation of the European Media Art Festival

The German Embassy and the Museum of Modern Art, with the support of the Secretary of State for Culture, will present the European Media Art Festival (EMAF) as part of the 24th National Biennale of Visual Arts.

Ralf Sausmikat, director of EMAF will direct the presentation this Thursday, October 26 at 6:00PM in the auditorium at the Museum of Modern Art.

The European Media Art Festival is one of the most influential forums of media events in the world in the digital and analog formats.  For the past 20 years, talented young people and well-known experts have shown their cutting edge work at this event.  International artists, with unique concepts and techniques, present their own styles that are put into practice with their personal, as well as social, esthetic and artistic themes, as explained in a press communiqué from the German Embassy in the Dominican Republic.

Every year, following the Festival, EMAF gathers up and tours the most extraordinary work that will set the trend for future artists. This year, Ralf Sausmikat, director and festival curator, will present a special program about last year EMAF and will talk about the Media Festival and new developments underway in Media Art.  Later, there will be an open discussion in which he will take questions.
