SERVICES OFFERED BY THE CIVIL REGISTRAR’S OFFICE AND THE CORRESPONDING FEES

On January 18, 2007, the Central Electoral Office (JCE) approved and circulated a new law establishing fees for the registration of various vital records, which will be reviewed annually.

Article 6 of the new law indicates which services offered by the 161 registrar’s offices throughout the country and specifies which services are free of charge and which are not.

Following is a list of free services and paid services:

Paragraphs from Article 6

I: Civil servants and officials, in addition to their fixed salaries, will add an additional 40% of the corresponding value to the marriages of those celebrated and who agree to take a voluntary transfer outside the central Municipal Offices.

II: The fees indicated herein include the stamp that are valued at RD$30.00, in keeping with Law 67 and the agreement carried out between the Central Electoral Commission and the General Office of Internal Revenue.
