Toño Rosario Begins "Tour USA 2008"

In what will be his biggest tour ever, on August 20th Toño Rosario will begin his "Tour USA 2008" which will keep him on the road until October 20th.

As the theme of his long voyage abroad, Toño Rosario has chosen his recent hit song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy," a contagious Merengue widely broadcast on the radio.

"It is a song of optimism for the world and that’s the message I’d like to deliver on this tour of the United States . I have great expectations for the performances and, as always, I promise to give my all and to leave my heart,” said the singer who is known as “The Chief: Toño Rosario Light.”

Rosario’s “Tour USA 2008” will begin in the US capital Washington DC then continue to Miami , Tampa and Orlando , Florida then move on to Houston , Chicago , Los Angeles, New Orleans , Boston , Detroit , North Carolina and Tennessee among other cities.

In New York City , “El Kuko” as he is also known, will give two major concerts. The first will be on August 30 in the United Palace Theater as part of the anniversary celebration of “Area 809,” the radio station Mega 97.9 FM.

His second NY performance will be on October 8 in Madison Square Garden , one of the most sought after venues in New York City . This show, like the United Palace and all the others, will be just as the Toño Rosario promised: unforgettable!

Pavel Núñez To Accompany Juan Luis Guerra on His European Tour

Pavel Núñez has confirmed that he will take part in Juan Luis Guerra’s European tour that will begin on August 20 in La Coruña, Spain.  

"The Travesía Tour" will also include the Spanish cities of Valencia, Lanzarote, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Valladolid and Zaragoza as well as Holland and Sweden.

This trip marks the first time the singer of "Por Honor" will travel to Europe to perform before large audiences who doubtless will be impressed with his style. "I will be eternally grateful to Juan Luís for the opportunity to travel with him on a tour of such a large scale as this one," said Pavel.

Once he completes his commitement to the "La Travesía Tour," Pavel Núñez will return to Santo Domingo where his team will prepare for his university tours scheduled for October.

Aljadaqui in New York

The well-known Dominican pop rock band Aljadaqui is preparing its return to the big stages. As the Dominican rockers put the final touches on their launch, planned for next month, they will join forces with Mexican singer Alejandra Guzmán to put on a pure rocket concert in New York City ’s Nokia Theater.

The musicians will come together on August 24th at the Nokia, located in Times Square , in what is expected to be an explosive concert. Aljadaqui, who became popular several years ago, is made up of Mariano Lantigua who sings vocals, José Vizcaíno on drums and Roberto Lantigua on guitar.

These three talented musicians, who have won many awards and received widespread recognition, are known for such popular hits as “Desire to Love,”  “Lies,”  “If You’re Thinking of Returning,” “My Life is Gone,” and “There is Nothing Left.”  

The first recording of the popular rock band, “Who Changed You,” will be heard simultaneously on Dominican and U.S. radio stations as well as online broadcasts this coming August 30.

  Wason Brazobán Continues US Tour

Dominican singer-songwriter, Wason Brazobán, is returning to the United States in August to continue his tour and to participate in important activities in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

In the Big Apple, Brazobán has several shows lined up, one of which is to be held on August 10 at the majestic Dominican Parade which every years brings together thousand of Latino residents living in the northeastern US.

After that, on August 22, the singer-songwriter will be one of the invited stars to participated in “Latin Night” (“Noche Latina”), an event organized by the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. In addition, he will perform at several well-known nightspots in this great city.

Wason Brazobán has become one of the most creative and successful composers in the Dominican Republic in recent years first as a vocalist and leader of the group “Negros” and now as a solo artist.

Among his most popular work is the song “En un sólo día” (In Just One Day) which is the theme of the soundtrack of the original Dominican film , “Sanky Panky,” produced by Premium Latin Films.

Paquito D' Rivera to Play in the Hotel Jaragua

On Saturday August 23, Paquito D' Rivera, along with "Funk Tango," will give the best of himself and his music to the Dominican public which has been waiting to see this musical genius who not only masters the saxophone but also the clarinet.

The concert will be held in the Fiesta Theater of the Hotel Jaragua. The one-time only presentation is being given as a benefit for the “Voluntariado Jesús los Niños.”

The Dominican group “Sly & the Latin Bars” will be the opening band to be followed by Paquito and his Quintet. The show’s production is being done by Hierbabuena Entertainment, S.A.

Charles Aznavour Says Goodbye in Altos de Chavón

The Altos de Chavón Amphitheater, on September 27, will host the final concert of legendary French musician CHARLES AZNAVOUR in a production staged by Jose Antonio Rodriguez and his company Creatividad , S.A.

Charles Aznavour is one the France’s most popular musicians with a extensive career that spans the globe. He has sold more than 100 million records throughout his artistic life and has been honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame and has received the Cesar Award in addition to widespread recognition throughout his 60-year career.

This show is part of Aznavour’s farewell tour and the musician has chosen the Dominican Republic to give his last concert.

Jazz Concerts with Guillo Carías & 4+1

Every three weeks on Mondays and Tuesdays, Guillo Carias and 4+1 Jazz, give Latin Jazz, Bossa, and Caribbean fusion music concerts.
