With and interesting, innovative and educational stand, the General Internal Tax Office is participating at the 11th International Book Fair of Santo Domingo 2008 which will run until May 4 in the Juan Pablo Duarte Culture Plaza.

“The History of Taxes.” Passing through a time-travel tunnel, visitors will be able to witness the evolution of taxes throughout past civilizations and see how this process affected their development.

On this occasion, the Internal Tax Office is promoting a Tax Education Project with an entertaining proposal for Pre-taxpayers, Tax payers and all the family. In their stand, which last year received recognition for its educational spirit, is called “The History of Taxes.” Passing through a time-travel tunnel, visitors will be able to witness the evolution of taxes throughout past civilizations and see how this process affected their development.

In addition, the stand offers a tax information area in which tax payers can receive information about their RNCs, Tax Forms and other transactions through a Virtual Office.

As part of their program, which is part of the most important book fair in the country, the staff of the Tax Education Project will offer more than 20 informational talks on the “Importance of Paying Taxes.” They will be giving away board games, pencil cases, educational stories and other material.  They will also be handing out tax-information brochures on the main taxes administered by the DGII. The DGII stand, located on the left side of the National Theater, entering through Máximo Gómez Avenue, will be open from 9:00 AM a 10:00 PM.
