A representative of the Dominican Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) attended the International Fair of Commercial Aviation in Mexico, May 15-18, which was held to mark the 31st anniversary of the Airline Representatives Association of Guadalajara (ARLAG).

The DR stand stood out among the other 257 due, in part, to the presence of a beautiful model dressed in the same outfit worn by Miss Dominican Republic, Massiel Taveras Henríquez, in 2007.

Isabel Vásquez, Promotion Director of SECTUR, represented the Dominican Republic at the fair - one of the most important in Mexico’s tourism industry. Ms. Vásquez received recognition from ARLAG vice-president Jorge Zárate in honor the DR’s successful participation in the event, according to a press release from SECTUR’s Office of Press and Communication.

Activities undertaken by the Dominican delegation during the fair included a presentation of 95 travel agents on the first day, an attractive stand, a lunch with the regional press corps and a breakfast presentation for travel agencies together with Copa Airlines.

Throughout the course of the Dominican exposition, some 1,277 people stopped by the colorful stand. Visitors included Jalisco’s Tourism Minister, travel agents, airline representatives and wholesale operators. The event was held in the Guadalajara Expo installation and the Hilton Hotel. Other airline companies present included Aeroméxico, Alaska Airlines, Alitalia, Alma, American Airlines, Avianca, Copa Airlines, Continental Airlines, China Airlines, Delta Airlines, Lan, Mexicana de Aviación, Qatar Airways and United Airlines.
