The book “The Generation Gap: Toward a Renovation of Hope” by Milton Morrison will be launched in New York City on August 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Caliope Bookstore on Dyckman Street in Washington Heights. The following Saturday, Mr. Morrison will give a press conference on the challenges facing young people in the age of globalization.

Morrison proposes a system of political parties based on programmatic commitments tied to a national development agenda agreed upon by representatives from various sectors of society and national life.

This activity will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Dominican Cultural Commission located on 145th St. between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenues in Upper Manhattan. The author has proposed a series of proposals, among other social commitments, that should be assumed by every Dominican in an effort to improve the country’s political party system and quality of life.

In addition, he argues for a strengthening of participative democracy to include all sectors of national life, ensuring equality, collective well-being and respect for law and institutions. About the Author

Milton Morrison, born in Santo Domingo on August 14, 1975, graduated Cum Laude from the Electrical Engineering Faculty of Santo Domingo (INTEC) with a specialty in Strategies and Regulation of Electrical Markets. He then earned a Masters Degree in Planning and Development at Bradford University in England. Afterward, he took a job as Career Director at the Electrical Engineering Faculty of INTEC.

Morrison co-authored and edited several publications including “Electricity and Development: The Challenge for the Dominican Republic” (1996) and “Renewable Energy in the Dominican Republic” (2001).

On July 31, 1999 he was awarded a National Youth Prize of the Dominican Republic. In February 2002, Morrison was chosen as the Ambassador for World Peace by the Inter-Religious and International Federation of World Peace (IIFWP).

In 2006, he was awarded the Most Outstanding Personality of the Dominican Republic. He is also an honorable member and advisor of the Non-Governmental Organizations Block (BONGs).

In 2000, Morrison participated as a participant in Dominican delegation to the United Nations’ Millennium Declaration: A Civil Society Response.

He also contributes opinion and op-ed pieces to the newspaper El Caribe, and has collaborated with Listín Diario and El Siglo newspapers as well as national and international magazines.

He participates regularly in conferences and events in the Dominican Republic, the United Sates, England, Germany, Colombia, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Cuba, Santa Lucia, among other countries and regions.
