		Talents and Unction Return to National Theater Talents and Unction are going to be performing once again in the Eduardo Brito Hall at the National Theater on May 10 and 11, 2008. Saturday’s performance will begin at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday’s at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from RD$500 to RD$300 depending on seating. Talents and Unction is a theater piece that brings together more than 200 artists who fuse their talents into a spectacular performance using theater, music, pantomime, classical, modern and contemporary dance who all work together on the same theme. The show has been divided into three basic moments. The first block is called “Awake” and is a call to our society to wake up and take stock of what is happening to the country we live in. The second block, “Denounce,” humorously relates the way Dominican people feel about subjects such as education, politics and health, among other things. The last and most important is called “Announce” because “we gain nothing by only talking about how bad everything is but never proposing solutions: Give our hearts and our country over to Jesus. All of this has been shown with the age-old story of Love,” say the event organizers.
		Jazz at the Book Fair This week is the beginning of the Book Fair in Culture Plaza in Santo Domingo. To mark the event, on Thursday April 24 and Thursday May 1, Jazz in Dominicana will be offering free live concerts at the Café Bohemio, from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. The first of the two concerts, this Thursday April 24, will be given by the trio “Au Vivo” with Bienvenido Dinzey on piano, Jacin Pérez on bass and Javier Robiou on drums.
		Jazz Concerts with Guillo Carías & 4+1 Every three weeks on Mondays and Tuesdays, Guillo Carias and 4+1 Jazz, give Latin Jazz, Bossa, and Caribbean fusion music concerts. The performances with Guillo Carías (piano, flugel horn), Wellington Valenzuela (drums, percussion), Carlos Fernández (guitars), Cuquito Moré (electric and acustic bass) will often bring guest artists.
