Fourth Period (1930-1960):
Plazas:
- The old Plaza Colombina is transformed into
Ranfis Playground (known today as the park Parque Eugenio María de
Hostos) by the architect Guillermo González Sánchez. It has a
classic axial composite plan, intended to create a three-dimensional
perspective from George Washington Avenue. First public space in the
city with overtones of modernity. Originally outfitted with a
library and skating rink.
