Vaccination
Free Vaccines The State Secretary of Public Health and Social Assistence (SESPAS) provides all necessary vaccines for the Dominican population free of charge. The vaccinations are provided through vaccination centers distributed throughout all regions of the country.
Private Centers
Vaccines are also offered through private medical centers, where payment is determined by the facility and doctor providing treatment.
Public Centers
The public sector provides the following vaccines free of charge:
BCG Anti-tuberculosis: given from birth onwards
Hepatitis B: given at birth
Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV): given from 2 months onwards
Pentavalent vaccine (DPT, HIB, HB): given from 2 months onwards
MMR Vaccine (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella): given from 12 months onwards
Diphtheria and tetanus (DT) vaccine: for children older than 7 years, women of child-bearing age, and pregnant women
