Carried out in the Playa Dorada Golf Club, the briefing counted on participation from local authorities, business executives from the tourism sector, sponsors, and many other stakeholders.
The President of the Touristic Cluster, Roberto Casoni, gave a welcome address in which he highlighted the annual growth of the event and its impact on tourism in the region. Casoni emphasized the importance of Discover Puerto Plata for Playa Dorada, which is hosting the expo for the very first time. Casoni affirmed that this “represents the golden age of tourism in the North Coast, which has through its developments shown itself to be a renewed model” of Dominican tourism.
Casoni also spoke of the involvement of hotel chains such as Hodelpa, which will begin operations of its Emotions by Hodelpa Playa Dorada in the coming months. In addition to the upcoming December opening of VH Atmosphere, these events along with other initiatives constitute a great opportunity to show off different sides of Playa Dorada and Puerto Plata.

Broad details for this version of the trade fair were laid out by Jakaira Cid, Executive Director of the Touristic Cluster, who said that this year’s fair is dedicated to sustainable tourism and adventure travel.

Cid announced that 85 companies working in tourism services will be present to highlight their offerings during this year’s trade show, where already more than 100 industry professionals focusing on wholesale, tour operations, air travel, and domestic and international news media have confirmed their attendance.

She also explained that in addition to business roundtables, the event’s programming will include conferences, tours aimed at familiarization with the locale, and for the second year, the cooking show “Saborea Puerto Plata,” which will feature the top chefs from the region.

The Executive Director thanked the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic for its continuous support of the trade fair as an official sponsor since its inception. Furthermore, she emphasized the support provided by Ms. Magaly Toribio, Director of Marketing, as well as that of the many tourism promotion agencies abroad that participate each year along with delegations from their respective countries.

Also during the press briefing, Mayra Ramón, Deputy Director of Experience Brugal and Community Affairs, and Julio Almonte, Vice Minister of Tourism for the North Region, reaffirmed the support of their institutions for the annual trade fair.
