    Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo Hosts Gastronomic Festivalo

    Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo’s signature restaurant, Nabú, will receive an infusion of Chilean tastes and colors during its celebration of the Festival of Chilean Gastronomy between August 22nd and 26th.

    The opening reception is set to take place on August 21st, and beginning on the following day, lovers of Chilean cuisine will be able to enjoy an a-la-carte menu and buffet specially prepared by Patricio Arias, Executive Chef of the Crowne Plaza Santiago Hotel.

    The Festival of Chilean Gastronomy counts on the support of the Embassy of Chile in the Dominican Republic, Pro Chile, and Avianca.

    For Arvey Benavides, General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo, the Festival is being held with the objectives of highlighting flavors unique to Chilean gastronomy and offering a varied and unique menu to diners and guests.

    Attendees of the Festival will have the option of experiencing Chilean cuisine at a lunch buffet held from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. or during nightly dinner from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. in Nabú Restaurant.

    Profile of Chef Patricio Arias

    Patricio Arias is the current Executive Chef of the Crowne Plaza Santiago Hotel in Santiago, Chile, and has been working for 28 years in the hospitality industry.

    Arias has participated in important events such as the “Cena Nerudiana,” held for Chilean president Ricardo Lagos in the Palacio de la Moneda.

    He has also exhibited Chilean cuisine in gastronomic festivals held in a number of countries on behalf of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

    Arias has worked at the Crowne Plaza Buenos Aires, the InterContinental Tequendama in Bogotá, the InterContinental Tamanaco in Caracas, and at the Patria Restaurant & Café, in Montevideo.

    He is an active participant in Chilean television, where he exhibits gastronomic techniques. He also participates in culinary activities with the Chilean Chefs Association
