Film Series â€œTowards the Iris Dominicana Movie Awards 2017" at the Cinemateca

The Association of women in cinema (AMUCINE, for its acronym in Spanish) and the Dominican Republic Film Commission (DGCINE, for its acronym in Spanish), through Cinemateca Dominicana, presented a film series entitled â€œTowards the Iris Dominicana Movie Awards 2017".
From March 9 to 15, the public will enjoy an excellent selection of Dominican productions who have been nominated to the Iris Dominicana Movie Awards of the year, made in 2016, to give recognition to the best of the film industry of the Dominican Republic in different aspects, both technical and artistic.
Such cinematographic works were selected by a broad jury, formed by critical, fashion connoisseurs, filmmakers and musical producers, among others: Amaury Perez; Katherine Bautista; Harje Kjellberl; Elias MuÃ±oz; Nefertiti PÃ©rez; Luis Arambilet; Humberto Almonte; JosÃ© Rafael Sosa; Omar Narpier; Julio Melo; Henriette Wiese, Solange Sagredo and Isabel Reynoso (In Moda RD); Luichy Guzman; MayrenÃ Morel; Pablo Lozano; Francis Cruz; William Simon; and ElÃas Acosta.
The President of AMUCINE, Julissa Rumaldo, expressed that this film series is the preparation for the awards ceremony, where the growth of the Dominican film industry becomes visible.
The cycle starts with the projection of the Dominican comedy "Todos los hombres son iguales", directed by Manuel GÃ³mez Pereira, at 7:30 PM.
The screenings will take place at the Cinemateca Dominicana and, as for all the film programming presented in this space, the entrance will be free of charge.
The program includes 3 panel discussions: "The challenges of making people laugh in comedies", "The complexity of a cinematographic production" and "The challenges of dramatic acting".
